Respiratory depression
Nausea & vomiting
Dizziness
Mental clouding
Dysphoria,
Pruritus,
Constipation
Increased pressure in the biliary tract
Urinary retention
Hypotension
Morphine causes histamine release, which can cause bronchoconstriction and vasodilation
Morphine and related opioids must be used cautiously in patients with compromised respiratory function
Anaphylactoid reactions
